Intro
Manage translations through one central technology
An effective globalization strategy depends on managing content in many different forms, applications and sources, written by many authors. Andovar addresses these challenges by connecting Phrase, our industry-leading AI-driven Translation Management System, and Andovar’s managed services. Phrase automates the flow of content between client content management systems and Andovar’s translation process.
Tools
Under the Hood
Computer-aided translation (CAT) tools are excellent facilitators of the localization processes. Working in conjunction with translation memory and termbase, CAT tools enable recycling of previously translated content and repeated content from within any new materials, leading to faster turnaround and expedited market entry, reduced costs and brand consistency across your entire organization. Phrase features one of the most reliable CAT tools available on the market, helping facilitate the localization process for various clients across the world.
A termbase is a translation glossary and that is built into the core functionality of Memsource. Term Bases assign the desired (or client approved) translation or instruction to a word, term or acronym. For instance, some terms may be required to remain in English. For terms requiring translation, we all know words often have different meanings in different contexts. A glossary of this type will have the specific definition of a word, typically how it is used in a particular industry’s context.
Translation memory (TM) is a technology that helps translators work faster and more consistently. It stores how a section of text, called a segment, was previously translated and then repurposes it when the same or similar segment is identified by the software. Translation memory matches are these repeating segments. Fuzzy matches are segments that are partially changed but identified by the software as similar to previously used segments. TM saves time by minimizing unnecessary typing and ensures better consistency for highly repetitive texts, such as technical manuals and software help files. This saves time and money.
Machine translation (MT) has been promising to solve language translation challenges for decades, but now with the advent of machine learning and artificial intelligence, it is finally able to deliver on its promise. Recent advancements in computing power, natural language processing, and the latest approach known as Neural Machine Translation (NMT) are making automated translation applicable in an expanding range of industries.
Key Features
A system that helps you scale
Translation Management
Phrase TMS helps global companies translate efficiently thanks to AI technology, 200+ supported languages and file types, as well as state-of-the-art machine translation engines. Phrase is the translation management system used by many of the world’s leading brands to reduce costs, automate workflows, and optimize their overall translation process.
AI – Translation Automation viability check
Phrase is all about reducing unnecessary translation costs! Before a translation is assigned to a human translator, Phrase identifies content that can be translated automatically. This is done by applying high quality automated translation or identifying content that does not require translation, which minimizes the content that needs to be assigned to a translator.
Workflow Automation
Phrase reduces repetitive, manual tasks through end-to-end automation. You can configure your custom translation workflow in a few simple steps and provide a user-friendly translation widget so that the entire company can leverage a more efficient translation process.
Connectors and REST API
Salesforce, Zendesk, Sitecore, Marketo, WordPress, Drupal, and AEM are just some of the many out-of-the-box connectors Phrase offers. With over 25 integrations, and REST API for custom integrations, you can build your ideal translation system.
MQM Quality Testing Framework
Customizable LQA profiles allow Phrase users to tailor the severity and types of errors flagged, and the ability to implement pass/fail thresholds in line with their quality standards. Errors are based on the DQF-MQM terminology framework. Examples of error types with customizable weighting include Accuracy, Fluency, Locale, Verity and Design.
